Mission and Team Leads

Offer a warm, efficient, informative welcome and support the team leads for your shift.

  • Be warm, efficient, and informative.
  • You are the first impression of Cho Dem MTL.
  • Team leads are the point of contact for volunteers, breaks, and cross-team communication.

Table Materials and Information to Know

What should be available at the North and South Quay tables.

  • Laptop or tablet with power or battery pack.
  • Printed program.
  • Printed site map.
  • Visual food menu, QR code, and paper format.
  • Entry lists needed by your assigned table or team lead.
  • Kiosk and food information so volunteers can orient guests.
  • Detailed program and launch run-of-show.
  • Radio for communication with the central team.
  • First-aid and security contacts.

Volunteer Roles

Role-specific instructions for proactive, scan, and guest-support teams.

  • Proactive volunteers welcome and inform festivalgoers. Ideally, one person should speak Vietnamese to welcome older Vietnamese guests.
  • Scan volunteers welcome guests and scan tickets. The team provides at least four cell phones with charging cables and a Jackery.
  • Guest-support volunteers answer practical questions, help redirect visitors, and escalate issues to the team lead.
  • Never leave a post uncovered without checking with the team lead.
  • Keep breaks coordinated so the entrance or information flow stays staffed.

Conduct, Breaks, and Support

Volunteer expectations that apply across posts.

  • Treat guests, vendors, artists, other volunteers, and staff with patience and respect.
  • Ask your team lead before changing post, taking a break, or helping another team.
  • If you are unsure, pause and escalate instead of guessing.
  • For medical, safety, or aggressive-guest situations, contact the team lead, first aid, or security immediately.
  • Share practical observations with the next shift so the handoff is smooth.
